Pastoral Advisory #9: On the Celebration of Baptism, Marriage and Confirmation

In a previous advisory, Pastoral Advisory #8, F, no. 4, it is said: “Do not accept or schedule celebrations of weddings, baptisms and confirmations as of yet”.

But, in the present circumstances, we can now start accepting schedules for individual baptism and special wedding, following strictly, of course, the current health protocols and guidelines of the city contained in our own guidelines for the celebration of these sacraments.

It may be difficult for us to accommodate these celebrations of baptisms and weddings in the usual schedules on Saturdays and Sundays. So, therefore, for your guidance, you may celebrate these—baptism and wedding—during weekdays.

You can now start accepting schedules for these two sacraments, but the actual celebration will start only in the next month, that is, August 2020.

Please be reminded that as practiced, the proceeds from individual baptisms shall be remitted to the chancery for the seminary fund. May I take this opportunity to let you know that our seminary fund is almost depleted.

Regarding confirmations, please do not schedule the celebration of confirmation as of yet.

Please be guided accordingly.

Again, in all these, we are reminded to follow strictly all health protocols and directives regarding public religious gatherings found in our guideline.
