Faithful urged to reflect on lessons of Laudato Si Encyclical in Coronavirus crisis
This is the theme of the Laudato Si Week which is celebrated May 18 to 24.
As the world is affected by the Coronavirus Pandemic, the faithful are urged to reflect on the lessons of the Laudato Si Encyclical of Pope Francis during this time of the Coronavirus Pandemic.
Online trainings from May 16 to 23 were set through Laudatosiweek.org wherein participants have reflected on the encyclical that guided them through the current crisis while on May 24, the whole world are to participate in the worldwide day of prayer.
“Laudato Si’ Week helps us reshape the world that will arise after the pandemic has passed. The present crisis is an opportunity to start anew, and to make sure that the world that arises after this crisis has passed is sustainable and just,” as stated in the Laudato Si Week website, adding:
“Laudato Si’ tells us that “everything is connected” and tragically, this health catastrophe has much in common with the ecological catastrophe.”
As the city is under the General Community Quarantine in response to the global pandemic, the Archdiocese of Davao joins the world in the celebration of Laudato Si Week. (JFF/DCHerald)
