Devotion to Mama Mary

History tells us of the intervention of Mama Mary at all times for the benefit of our souls. As our mother, she always takes part in our journey as Church. As a “people in love with Mary,” we, Filipinos once again have consecrated ourselves to the Immaculate Heart of Mary last May 13, Feast of the Our Lady of Fatima.

Led by no less than the Most Rev. Romulo G. Valles, D.D., CBCP President and Archbishop of the Davao, together with other bishops from all over the country, we ask for healing as one. Indeed, as Archbishop Valles emphasized in his homily that day, “God simply intervenes”. Mama Mary has been a noble instrument in this intervention having been chosen by the Father in her lowliness to reveal the power and love of God.

For an ordinary Filipino believer, the rosary is always there in the altar or in vehicles. Throughout this month of May, we hope that our devotion to Mama Mary through the praying of the Holy Rosary and the celebration of Flores de Mayo bring us closer to Jesus her Son. May we learn to imitate her by living a renewed life of faith, hope and charity in this time of crisis.

Mama Mary intercede for us always and protect us from harm.
