Davao Mayor says limiting movements still possible under GCQ
Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio has warned against holding gatherings like parties as the city is expecting a situation under General Community Quarantine (GCQ).
“Measures limiting movements are possible,” said Duterte during an interview with the Davao City Disaster Radio last May 4.
“Kung makita ninyo didto [sa guidelines], limitado gihapon. Basig mag-andam na ang mga tao sa ilahang party sa pagbalik nato sa GCQ,” the mayor said in a report posted in the City Information Office. She is referring to the Omnibus Guidelines on the Implementation of Community Quarantine issued by the national government’s Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF).
The mayor said that once GCQ takes effect, some establishments in the city will open and public transport like jeepneys will be operating.
Religious gatherings like Holy Mass is still not yet allowed for safety purposes.
GCQ was supposedly implemented earlier but was deferred in compliance to the mandate of the national government to put the country under ECQ due to the threat of Covid-19. (JFF/DCHerald)
