We spread Spiritual Positivity by going beyond the Cross
OLLP Bangkal Prayer Warriors – Small Group Recollection
Holy Wednesday Reflection: April 8, 2020
From “Recollection on Air” aired April 7, 2020
Father Jose Junar dela Victoria, my Charismatic colleague and friend, head of the Canon Lawyers in the Philippines, underscored the theology behind Philippians 2:5-11 as he plunged into the Paschal Mystery of Christ by spiritual positivity.
I was amazed by his Charismatic presentation on how Jesus defined his own suffering by going beyond the cross – being optimistic in a clear negative situation when he humbled himself by being obedient to death, death on the cross.
Klaro na kaayo nga mamatay siya sa krus, apan wala siya mitan-aw sa kasakit ug kamatayon nga iyang masinati sa krus. Jesus went optimistically beyond the cross, that through the cross “he can make all things new”.
Indeed, what the health care workers are doing is a heroic act. Matod pa sa mga medical practitioners, it is a call of duty. In Hinduism Theology, it is defined by Krishna in Bagavad-Gita as a dharmic duty. A big grand salute to the frontliners.
Kita nga mga dili frontliners, dili kita mahadlok, dili kita mabalaka. Wala man gani nahadlok o nabalaka ang mga frontliners. Nakulba-an lang siguro. Matod pa ni Father Junar, let us focus on the doughnut, don’t focus at the hole. Naa ang lami sa doughnut mismo, wala sa buslot. Be optimistic and think positive. We spread spiritual positivity by going beyond the cross, and make things new.
AFTER COVID-19, WHAT WOULD BE OUR UMBRELLA OF FAITH?
Gusto ta motabang sa pagbuntog batok sa COVID-19? Stay at home. Stay safe. We pray. Ampo jud ta, this is our biggest contribution. We are the prayer warriors on this fight against coronavirus disease. This is what we are called for; and we claim – we call ourselves as prayer warriors of the Our Lady of Lourdes Parish.
We are not medical practitioners. We are not law enforcers. We are supposedly active Church people of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish. What is our task in this fight against COVID-19? We stay at home, be safe, and we pray. We pray. This is our task. This is our role. This is our call of duty. This is our dharmic duty.
Matod pa ni Father Junar, kini atong contribution sa pagsugpo sa COVID-19, although the form is private, but the nature is public. Prayer is our weapon, and we do it together as prayer warriors, as parishioners of the Our Lady of Lourdes. In our parish, Mama Mary is the Patron of the sick; we are her prayer warriors.
After COVID-19, what will be our umbrella of faith? Prayer is our best umbrella; and our prayer must bear CONTAGIOUS POSITIVITY, for we have God in our heart. This is our task. This is our role. This is our call of duty. This is our dharmic duty. And if we are united in our prayers, we can defeat together corona virus disease.
Virus lang yan, Katoliko tayo. #WeHealAsOne. (Vonz M. Hijada | OLLP SoCCom)
