TDM Sisters and Catholic Schools shelter COVID-19 frontliners
The Teresian Daughters of Mary, University of the Immaculate Conception, Holy Cross of Sasa and Holy Cross of Davao College are helping nurses who are in the frontline in the fight against the coronavirus by providing them shelter after a hard day’s work in the hospital.
Archbishop Romulo G. Valles has asked the Superior of the TDM Sisters and the School Presidents of the said institutions to house the nurses of Southern Philippines Medical Center while the city is still containing the deadly virus.
This is in response to the plight of nurses who were forced to leave their boarding houses as their landlords are afraid of the virus since they are working in the frontlines.
The TDM Sisters then prepared their 51 rooms in their retreat house as temporary shelter while the threat of the virus is still not contained.
The communities of the said religious groups are glad to offer their contribution in the fight against coronavirus through their facilities.
It is a big help for nurses to stay as the rooms are conducive for rest and sleep after their hours of duty. (John Frances C. Fuentes/DCHerald)
