Sanctuario de San Antonio of Agdao Parish blessed
San Antonio de Padua Parish in Agdao has a new site where parishioners and devotees can sit down and pray.
The Sanctuario de San Antonio, a site fronting the parish where the image of St. Anthony of Padua stands was blessed last March 1, after the Anticipated Mass.
Fr. Amado Arroyo, the parish priest officiated the Mass and the blessing.
He explained that the image used to be installed in the façade of the church but was removed due to some cracks found.
He said that he had the image repaired and decided to create a sanctuary in honor of the patron of lost things.
Fr. Arroyo also said that parishioners can sit down and pray in the sanctuary with the image of St. Anthony carrying the Child Jesus looking down at the faithful.
He said that this would also discourage those with vehicles to park recklessly in front of the church and in the sanctuary as the church compound is intended for prayer and reflection.
The parish priest said that the sanctuary is part of the ongoing projects for the improvement of the parish.
