“Fiat heals”: OLLP launches Mass for the sick

15 February 2020. The Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Bangkal held its Mass for the Sick participated by hundreds of sick parishioners and elderly. The said liturgy was part of a week-long celebration of OLLP 17th Parochial Fiesta.

“Lipay kaayo ko nga nakaapil sa Misa para sa mga masakiton,” uttered by patient Janette, “karon pa jud ko kaapil niini sukad nagsakit ko.”

“Daghan diay kaayo mga masakiton sa parokya,” said patient Judith, “daghan pud naka wheelchair.”

Truly sick and elderly gathered in Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Bangkal and joyfully received the Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation, and the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick. OLLP Parish Priest Father Henry Campeon administered both Sacraments of Healing.

Devotion to the Our Lady of Lourdes is indeed very significant for Catholics as it engulfs the veracity of the apparitions; from then were miracles and healings of Jesus were experienced by the devotees through Mama Mary.

The fiat of Mary brought hope and joy to many sick people and elderly. The humble “yes” of Mary to be the Mother of God allowed herself to be the Mediatory of God’s graces, including the Divine healing power of Jesus. Fiat heals; and the experience is shared to the entire universal Church.

The parishioners of the Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Bangkal are so blessed for having such devotion as its patron; much more with the sick parishioners and elderly. As gratitude, they were also nourished with healthy foods after the Liturgy prepared by Parish Social Action Ministry (PSAM) led by Sis. Ofelia Bautista. (Vonz Hijada and Vinny Bajo | OLLP SoCCom)
