DADITAMA
The Archdiocese of Davao and the Dioceses of Digos, Tagum and Mati just held their quarterly meeting last March 3-5 in Holy Cross of Davao College, Camudmod, Island Garden City of Samal. This meeting was dedicated for a Lenten recollection for 2 days and one day business meeting.
Bishop Guillermo Afable, D.D., of Digos echoed the Lenten message of Pope Francis on the call to be reconciled with God. Archbishop Romulo Valles, D.D. deepened it in the context of Lent by explaining the CBCP Pastoral Letter on the Year of Interreligious Dialogue, Ecumenism and Indigenous Peoples. And, Fr. Joel Tabora, SJ, President of Ateneo de Davao University enlightened the group of bishops, clergy, religious and lay leaders on the call to our human fraternity during the visit of Pope Francis in the Middle East.
These pastoral workers who, in the words of Archbishop Valles, are ambassadors of Christ, deserve rest and reflection in order to spend time with the Lord so that they may be equipped once more as they feel with the Church.
Every church worker or evangelizer and each one of us as believers, like the disciples of Jesus, need to take time to stop, look and listen. This regular quarterly gathering called DaDiTaMa is an expression of a church that journeys together in the pursuit of a concerted effort of dialogue towards harmony.
May Mary, woman of dialogue, intercede for us!
