Agdao Parish holds confirmation for 700 children
Around seven hundred (700) parishioners of San Antonio De Padua Parish, Agdao coming from the different Basic Ecclesial Communities or GKKs and schools under its pastoral care received the Sacrament of Confirmation last February 22, 2020. This was presided over by the Archbishop of Davao, Abp. Romulo G. Valles and concelebrated by Rev. Fr. Amado B. Arroyo, parish priest of San Antonio. Abp. Valles shared in his homily that Confirmation has its basic foundation in the Acts of the Apostles when the Holy Spirit descended upon them making them bold, courageous and able to pronounce our faith.
It points in the mind of the Church that Christ defended evil and the gates of heaven opened, he also reminded that in our baptism we were claimed by God as inheritors of heaven. The Abp. ended his homily by telling the sponsors that during the confirmation rite they are to present their godson/goddaughter to God and to ask the Holy Spirit to descend upon them. Our sincere gratitude to the priests of San Antonio (Fr. Niel Sombrio and Fr. Nestor Dalumpines) Parish staff, EMHC, KOTAS, LCCP, Choir, Bro. Oliver Ganas to the hard-working CATECHISTS who prepared these children and to everyone who helped to make the celebration meaningful and successful. Daghang Salamat! (Mae Alferez)
