UNPLANNED Movie – a journey of conversion

The movie UNPLANNED was based on a book about Abby Johnson, a former planned parenthood clinic director-turned pro-life advocate.

Abby believed that abortion was a solution, a compassionate reaching out, a much cheaper alternative for women in distress because of unwanted pregnancies. “Abortion is not killing a baby/ it is just tissue/ nothing to worry about” were her usual lines as a volunteer escort, to being a staff, to getting the employee-of-the-year award, to becoming the head counsellor then director in the planned parenthood clinic where she worked.

But GOD, WHOSE thoughts are not our thoughts, WHOSE ways are not our ways, had Abby in HIS Hand.

Asked for the first time to assist in an actual abortion, Abby had her awakening. She saw first hand the horrors of abortion. Painfully, and honestly, she walked back to the memory of her own two abortions. It was painful, and memories stay no matter how long. Eventually, she realised that abortion is sinful.

Abby realised how blessed she was to have, all along, a loving husband, supportive parents, and the Coalition for Life group who all prayed for her and the clinic. GOD used these people to help Abby in her journey of remorse and retribution for all she did.

The making of this movie has gone through much difficulty. Yet, it continues to be watched, and to touch and open hearts to the truth that abortion is not GOD’s way.

POSTCRIPT

Abby Johnson, continues to speak in government and non-government forums to bring to light the evils of abortion. In an August 2019 interview in ChurchPOP, she says that the movie Unplanned has become a catalyst for healing, that she does not live in regret because GOD has forgiven her, that she does not live in fear (planned parenthood is said to sue her again after she won in her first court battle), that she believes she is doing what GOD wants her to do.

Now a Catholic, Abby loves praying the Holy Rosary and The Divine Mercy. She says that those who hate the movie has not even seen it, so she challenges them, if they firmly believe in the good of abortion, to watch it.

Let us together pray for Abby Johnson, and also pray for GOD’s illuminating Truth in watching the movie Unplanned.
