Pari ng Mindanao para sa Mindanao
The Diocesan Clergy of Mindanao once again gathered for their 44th annual convention February 17-19 in Malaybalay, Bukidnon.
Reflecting on the theme: “DCM commits to Dialogue, Communion and Mission towards Harmony,” hundreds of priests from the 21 archdioceses, dioceses, and prelatures convened in Bukidnon for this annual gathering.
The gathering began with a Holy Mass officiated by Bishop of Malaybalay Jose Cabantan at the San Isidro Labrador Cathedral in Malaybalay City and was attended by the priests and bishops who attended the convention.
The Mass was followed by a Procession for Unity from the Cathedral to the venue for their gathering and talks.
On the second day, Bishop of Butuan Cosme Damian Almedilla delivered a talk for the priests and bishops, focusing on the theme and their ministry as ministers here in Mindanao.
A priest from the Diocese of Ipil, Fr. Juliven Cainglet told DCHerald in an interview that he feels blessed to have attended for the third time the DCM Convention and met fellow priests of Mindanao and joined together in reflection.
“Ang mga kaparian sa Mindanao gitawag sa hiniusang misyon nga mao ang pagbalaan sa katawhan/simbahan sa Mindanao,” Fr. Cainglet said on his reflection about the holding of the annual DCM Convention.
The priests have also discussed their plans and other pressing concerns during their business meeting.
Sports activities were also done to improve sportsmanship and camaraderie among the clergy of Mindanao.
Bishop of Iligan Jose Rapadas officiated the culminating Mass before the priests headed back to their respective dioceses.
