Loving Each Other

Amidst all the chaos happening in the world like impending war, earthquakes, volcano eruptions and the spreading of 2019 novel coronavirus, among others it is still a beautiful world we live in if only we continue to nurture our environment and love each other.

February is a love month. Let us spread love among each other, starting with our own family. Parents should serve as an example to their children. As parents, let us show our love to our kids by spending quality time with them. May our actions and speech be loving at all times. Yes, there are times that we fail to do it human as we are, but it should not be an excuse. We now live in a society where our rival in getting the time and attention of our children are technology and social media. We should not let it intrude in our family relationships. Though its very hard these days to be a perfect parent but let us do our best to make it a point to love our children unconditionally.

Children love thy parents by showing respect and understanding their shortcomings. Amidst your busy schedule in work or school find time to share your concerns to your parents. Don’t bury your self in your gadgets and social media. Our parents work hard to provide for our needs; they too become exhausted. Let us all try to ease their burdens by showing that we care.

Understanding and loving each other is the key to a better relationship. May it be a parent to child relationship, husband to wife, brother to sister, boyfriend to girlfriend or friend to a friend, let us nurture our relationships and not take it for granted. Find time to talk, chat, message, text or call every now and then. Don’t forget to greet each other during special occasions. Tell each other “I love you” more often. Say “thank you”. You’ll never know when will be the last time that somebody will hear those important words from you.

Let me share with you below A Prayer For Our Family and Home taken from the book Prayers for Good Times and Bad:

“God, the people you have placed in my life — the people who make up my family — are a blessing to me in so many ways. We have traveled many life-miles together through the good and the bad, but even in our darkest moments, we have known a bond that is beyond explaining. It is the bond of family love. Thank you for placing that bond within our hearts, for it we are drawn and held together, whatever may come.”

Amen.

“I like not only to be loved, but also to be told I am loved.” – George Eliot
