Sto. Nino Shriñe marks 52

The Holy Infant Jesus of Prague Shrine or Sto. Niño Shrine in Shrine Hills, Matina, Davao City has celebrated its 52 years, January 15.

As it has become a yearly tradition, devotees from different parts of Mindanao and of the country have gathered at the Shrine Hills to have a glimpse of the Holy Infant Jesus.

Archbishop of Davao Romulo G. Valles who celebrated the Holy Mass on that day said in his homily that people should get the mind of the Child Jesus.

He said that they should not only think about themselves but also of others especially those who were affected by the recent eruption of Taal Volcano.

He said that he is thankful that the people are all present in the celebration, saying that it shows how strong their faith is and their devotion to the Child Jesus.

He also challenged them to be child-like, to be like the Child Jesus for them to enter the Kingdom of God.

He said that to be child-like means not to be overwhelmed with darkness, with hunger but trusting because of faith.

“May our fiesta today renew our trust and confidence in the goodness and love and care for the Lord,” the archbishop ended.
