Our Lady of Manaoag Prayer Community holds Black Nazarene celebration

The Our Lady of Manaoag Prayer Community has joined the entire nation in celebrating the feast of the Black Nazarene.

Through a Holy Mass and procession at the Sta. Ana Shrine Parish, January 9, the community has gathered devotees in Davao City to honor the Black Nazarene.

Fr. Junar Dela Victoria, presider of the Holy Mass has lauded the devotees for their commitment for attending despite the heavy rains.

He said that the practice of celebrating the feast of the Black Nazarene did not start in Davao but in Quiapo but it is slowly becoming a popular devotion in the archdiocese.

The Our Lady of Manaoag Prayer Community has been holding the procession for nine years already.

The image of the Black Nazarene has been in the Sta. Ana Shrine Parish for more than 60 years but it was only nine years ago when the celebration has become a yearly celebration in the Archdiocese of Davao.
