“Either Make Jesus Christ Known and Loved, or Die!” – Blessed Marie Rivier, Foundress of the Presentation of Mary Sisters

November 20, 2019: St. Michael’s School of Padada celebrated the Holy Mass with Rev. Father Jupiter S. Canoy, DCD presiding. The celebration focused on the celebration of the day itself which is the Feast of the Presentation of Mary at the Temple and at the same time the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary founded on the same day November 21 year of 1796.

On a brief history: November 21, 1796, during the feast of the Presentation of Mary at the Temple, Marie Rivier the foundress of the Presentation of Mary sisters (PM sisters) and four of her companions had the incredible audacity to found a community in the midst of the French Revolution, in the small village of Thueyts, Ardèche, France and it began to spread throughout the world including the Philippines in the year 1950.

“The feast of the presentation of Mary in the temple encourages us to surrender our lives to the Lord and entrust ourselves to Him. At the age of three, Mary was presented in the temple and was dedicated to our God. We celebrate today a portion of the story of Mary,” Fr. Jupiter said. (Joanna Marie D. Trumpeta | Padada SocCom)
