Holy Souls

“The Church teaches that every spiritual soul is created immediately by God — it is not produced by the parents — and also that it is immortal: it does not perish when it separates from the body at death, and it will be reunited with the body at the final Resurrection” (CCC 366).

As we commemorate on November 2 all the faithful departed, the whole month of November according to tradition, is a time for visiting graves of our loved ones. Our best offering for them are not only flowers and food but most of all the Holy Masses we offer for them. Recollecting their goodness in the midst of their struggles and being inspired by their faithfulness to God and sacrifices for us may also be of help for us who are still living.
