DYRD Radio Station, A Grateful Heart Give Back the Love for the Mindanao Quake Victims

Former quake victims of the Archdiocese of Tagbilaran in Bohol are now paying back in gratitude to the people of the Archdiocese of Davao, Diocese of Digos and Diocese of Kidapawan.

At exactly 1:30 pm, November 18, 2019 a 10-wheeler wing van full of relief goods from DYRD radio station of Tagbilaran, Bohol arrived at the TA.NA Relief Operation Center inside the San Pablo Parish Compound in Davao City.

Catholic Media Network DYRD-Bohol campaigned for relief goods and cash donations. Alfredo Gutierez, a senior field reporter of DYRD radio station said they campaigned around Tagbilaran to make this mission possible by accepting any kind of donation.

Bishop of Tagbilaran in Bohol, Abet Uy contacted Archbishop of Davao, Romulo G. Valles to hand over these donations where the Archdiocese has established the TA.NA Relief Donation Center. To recall, Bohol also greatly suffered from an earthquake in 2013 and the Archdiocese was one of the early relief respondents. In then, Boholanos also extended the relief goods on donations to the victims of the Diocese of Digos and Kidapawan.

A total of 900,000 pesos money donation and an estimated 1,000 packs of relief goods including clothes, canned goods and sacks of rice. Altorez Corporation let the DYRD use one of their wing vans for the delivery of goods. With all the level of negativity we are all experiencing today, humanity is a part of us that can be the greatest gift we can give to each other.

“Sa amoang gihimo karon, kani gyud ang maoy amoang dako nga tabang, sa Bohol gilinog pod ang amo. Pagtuman ni Mayor Sara Duterte nga suportahan pod ang mitabang sa amoa,” Alfredo Gutierez, Jr. said. A truly generous people who knows how to look back and give their service to the ones who helped them. (Rica May G. Campos and Lovely Ann R. Palanca)
