A Simple Tribute to Ma’am and Sir

September 5 – October 5, 2019 is a month celebration for teachers tagged as World Teachers’ Day or WTD. Right on the start of this month-long celebration, Talomo National High School launched a simple program for teachers spearheaded by the Supreme Student Government (SSG) with the leadership of their adviser Mr. Elmer T. Sarsaba, Jr. and SSG President Loriel Quennie Angelique Dayot.

October 2, 2019 was the busiest day for grade 9 and 10 beauty care students of Technology Livelihood Education (TLE), the grade 11 and 12 students of Technology and Vocational Livelihood (TVL), and the school’s Supreme Student Government who provided the supplies to be used for the pampering as they have given their teachers a well-deserved “ME” time. They were pampered with manicure, pedicure, hand spa, foot spa, whole body massage, hair treatment, hair color and the famous “kilay is life” treatment. The pampering performed by the students served as their outputs or performance tasks for their classes in TLE and TVL headed by their teachers Mrs. Ana Monica A. Ponsica and Mrs. Isabel A. Tabla. Fifty-two (52) teachers availed the free pampering given by the students. It was held at the school’s laboratory salon. Thank you very much to our supportive School Principal IV Reuel A. Alvarez, EdD PhD. And to the very active PTA Officials led by Mrs. Evelyn S. Acuyado.

Every year teachers in our school were given this kind of treatment to ease them from their work and make them relax. It is their one way of saying “Thank you teachers for the job well done and we love you very much!”

Araw ng Parangal para sa mga Guro was celebrated last October 3, 2019. Teachers were given special awards like Head Turner (Male and Female), Red Carpet Stunner (Male and Female), and WTD King and Queen. Loyalty and Service Awards were given to: Susan H. Niocena (38 years), Imelda P. Bulpa (37 years), Ana Monica A. Ponsica (30 years), Leilani C. Avila (25 years), Jason Badad (10 years), and Lorelie D. Bardinas (10 years).

The culminating program of the World Teachers’ Day celebration in the Division of Davao City was on October 4, 2019 at the Davao City National High School, Torres St., Davao City. (Ana Monica Alvaro Ponsica)
