Thank you dear Maryknoll Missionaries

The Maryknoll Missionaries left an imprint of their spiritual leadership as the last of the Maryknoll Fathers in Davao, Fr. Jerry Burr, MM, is leaving for good. Thousands and thousands of our faithful in Davao Region were baptized, taught and inspired to live the Christian faith because of their labors and examples. Our very own Archbishop of Davao and President of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines, Most Rev. Romulo G. Valles, D.D., is one of the fruits of their mission work, who in the early days of his priesthood witnessed the selfless dedication and zeal of our dear Maryknoll Fathers.

No words of gratitude can satisfy our desire to thank the Lord for the gift of their commitment to the missions. Their names are already written in the Book of Life. Like farmers who are full of trust they have planted and watered the faith along with other missionaries who came ahead of them. Like carpenters who never get tired of building our foundation, they have made us proud of our church and have inspired us to become missionaries ourselves.
