REMASE’s new chapel hosts Investiture, Institution to Ministries of Seminarians
For the first time, the new chapel of St. Francis Xavier Regional Major Seminary of Mindanao hosted the Investiture and Installation of Ministries of the Seminarians recently.
The chapel, though not yet completed is already usable but still requires finishing touches.
The ceremony was held July 14, with Archbishop of Davao Romulo G. Valles presiding and newly-installed Bishop of Butuan Cosme Aldemilla concelebrating along with some members of the clergy.
A total of 74 seminarians from the Configuration Year 1 to 3 received their new vestments and instituted in their respective ministries namely lectors and acolytes.
The 31 CY 1 seminarians received their sotana which was blessed by the archbishop while the 22 CY 2 seminarians were instituted as lectors and the 21 CY 3 seminarians installed as acolytes who assist the priest during the mass.
In his homily, Archbishop Valles told the seminarians that God does not stop from sending ministers to the Church.
He also reminded them that a seminarian should be comfortable with the word of God and finds pleasure in the celebration of the Holy Eucharist especially that they have been instituted in their ministries.
The archbishop lauded the growing number of seminarians reaching 164 studying in REMASE.
“Continue to pray to the Lord of the harvest,” he said as he also encouraged the faithful to promote the vocation to the priesthood among their friends.
