PPCRV noted glitches in election
The church-based election watchdog Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) noted several glitches on election day including malfunctioning voter registration verification machines (VRVMs) causing delay on the voters.“There were delays because of technical errors on the machines,” said Davao Association of Catholic Schools president Fr. Tomas Avila Jr.
Other than PPCRV, DACS and Election that is Clean Honest Accurate Meaningful and Peaceful or E-CHAMP operations assisted in monitoring the election.
In Magallanes Elementary School, only one of the seven VRVMs operated, hence, the electoral boards opted for manual verification to ease the delay.
The VRVMs are piloted in some areas in the country including Davao City and Davao del Sur in the region.
The same is noted at Wines Elementary Schools as well as in Communal ES in Buhangin.
In Davao City National High School, the Vote Counting Machines (VCM) were replaced because the first ones were malfunctioning.
The DACS also noted several personnel giving sample ballots or leaflets particular in Porras Elementary School in Agdao and in University of Southern Philippines in Obrero.
In San Roque ES, some unauthorized personnel put up assistance desk. Only the PPCRV was accredited as the election watchdog by Comelec.
More tham 1,000 volunteers were spread out the city to monitor the election day.
