OLLP Bangkal GKK SoCCom Annual Summer Bonding
In Matthew 11:28-30, God is telling us to unhook our suspenders for a while and rest from the busyness and the breakneck speed of life.
A day-tour summer bonding of the GKK SoCCom was scheduled on May 12, 2019, in one of the best local inland resorts in the City of Davao. Much to the excitement of the Apostolate members was the fun, and memorable summer break 2019 experiences while enjoying the resort amenities.
Merlyn Resula, the Parish GKK SoCCom Coordinator shared her thoughts and observations by initially describing the place as nice, conducive for the getaway. The environment promotes fellowship and camaraderie. Nag-enjoy ang tanan which were expressed through swimming, picture takings, and walang katapusang posing to the max which aims to capture moments with the gift of nature. The distance of the resort from our place does not hinder us from the excitement to see and experience what the resort can offer. I thank the Lord for the gift of persons that God gave to the GKK SoCCom and the closeness of everyone. Thank you Sisters; Mary Piastro, District 3, GKK SoCCom Coordinator and GKK SoCCom of The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, Central Park Phase 2 and Mercy De Los Santos, District 5 GKK SoCCom Coordinator and GKK SoCCom of The Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament, Kadayawan Homes Sectoral for sharing your RIDE to your Co-Servant Leaders. Added to the blessing was the token / giveaways given to the guest mothers and the program that the resort owner has prepared in relation to the Mother’s Day celebration. We went home literally full. Foods brought by pot-luck system were more than enough for ourselves. Lots of left-over.
“Pinaagi sa maong panagtapok napalig-on ang bond sa mga miyembro sa mga magsasangyaw sa mga GKK sa Our Lady of Lourdes Parish. The more nga naila-ila nako ang akong mga Co-Servants. Ang dili kompleto nga attendance wala nahimong babag nga na-achieve ang objectives sa maong escapade nga mao ang: a time-out for relaxation and fun. Ang venue tungod sa ambiance nga presko ang hangin ug limpyo ang palibot nakatabang nga ang mga maayong panghunahuna ang ninggawas; positive mindset, thoughts and insights,” said Leo Patos, District 2 GKK SoCCom Coordinator and GKK SoCCom of Sto. Nino Bulusan.
Service must be balanced with fun and worship. The relaxation is the rebuilding time for physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. Relaxation is not a luxury, it’s a necessity. Leaders need a timely time-out. The annual outdoor bonding on the 2nd Sunday of May is part of the GKK SoCCom’s plan of programs and activities. The activity started in 2015 after the GKK Social Communications Committee (SoCCom) was established based on the guidelines set on the Gagmay’ng Kristohanong Katilingban (GKK) Section 2, Article 16 of the yellow book.
