Care for nature is care for life: ALS Mangrove Planting

Easter Sunday, April 21, Instructional Managers and InFed Cum Livelihood Facilitators of ALS TIBUNGCO DISTRICT initiated a program that would help to revitalize the beauty of nature.

Everyone in the team believed that to care for nature is to give life to humanity. Therefore, an implementation of a Mangrove Planting has been done particularly at Purok 8 Pacs Bucana Barangay Panacan, Davao City.

Ma’am Filipinas B. Samblingo, the District Supervisor of DepEd Tibungco District approved the proposal of having a Mangove Planting when the ALS Implementers submitted it in her office two months prior to the said activity. “Okay kaayo na sir,” Samblingo responded to the proposal.

Sir Rusty Salazar Corsame, LPT, one of the Instructional Managers was one of the team who processed it into materialization and assisted by his Co-instructional managers especially Sir Elmer Gudin Yamson who went to the DENR and asked some seedlings of Mangrove.

The program was supported by the Barangay Council of Panacan and manifested by their presence on that day. Capt. Doce Apostol, the Barangay Captain of Panacan signed the certificate of Appreciation to be given to all who participated in the said event.

“Dako kaayo ang among pagpasalamat ug kalipay kay pinaagi niini mabalik ang maayo na kinaiyahan,” the purok leader of Purok 8 Panacan Pacs Bucana said upon having an interview.

People residing nearby the seashore of Panacan Pacs Bucana were very happy on that day since they felt new hope upon seeing the Mangrove seedlings planted near them that sooner will become the shield of many fish and other sea shells. It somehow gives life to them and their families.

The event ended by 3 o’clock in the afternoon and everyone went home happy as they leave the mark of new hope to the people and the nature. (Alvin M. Olaer, MAT)
