The Twelve Apostles

With the celebration of 2019 as the “Year of the Youth,” the Liturgical Committee (LitCom) of St. Francis Xavier Parish-Tibungco, headed by Rev. Fr. Jhun Gimeno Jr., deemed it appropriate to have this year’s representation of the 12 Apostles from the Youth Sector.

Majority of those who are chosen to portray as the apostles are students. There were some who are out-of school youth while the other four of them were Seminarians from nearby Cavanis Seminary, namely: Jay Mata as Felipe, Jeric Cavan as Santiago I, Gesniel Lastimosa as Juan, Mark Victor Luardo as Judas, Harry Gullon as Pedro, Russel Inson as Santiago II, Jericho Medillo as Andres, John Carlo Gracia as Bartolome, Nick Art Avila as Tomas, Junray Maturan as Tadeo, Elmer Ansit as Mateo and Alfie Tapurco as Simon.

At the end of the experience, from the recollection to the orientation and training they received, all were in agreement that it was indeed a life-changing one. They said that they felt renewed and energized.

Fr. Gimeno and the Parish LitCom are hopeful that the experience they had may bring them to the folds of the Church so that they will become faithful and better persons in the future.

They were also reminded of the words from the book of Acts 1:8 which says, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (Vivien Therese L.
