City Health Office offers tips to stay healthy this summer

The City Health Office recorded no incidents of heatstroke so far but the public are nonetheless advised to follow tips to stay away from diseases during summer time.

“If possible, let’s not go outside beyond 10 in the morning until three in the afternoon,” City Health Officer Dr. Joy Villafuerte bared.

Villafuerte also advised everyone to stay hydrated.

“We also advise everyone to always drink liquids to avoid dehydration that may cause heatstroke,” Villafuerte said.

“If you are out in the sun and you feel weak or dizzy, please stay in the shade and drink water immediately,” she added.

Villafuerte also noted that viral infections are common during summertime.

“If you have sore eyes, it is better that you stay at home.”

Everyone who is going to the beach are also advised to bring skin protection like sunblock lotion or stay in the shade to avoid skin diseases like prickly heat.

“The CHO will continue its information dissemination and awareness to the public on these matters,” Villafuerte said. (Julianne Suarez)
