5th Bishop of Pagadian to be installed
Bishop Ronald I. Lunas is set to be installed as the 5th bishop of Pagadian, March 25.
After his Episcopal Consecration last February 11 at Mary Mediatrix of All Grace Cathedrdal in Digos City, the new bishop is set to begin his new ministry as the new bishop of Pagadian.
The rite of installation will take place at the Sto. Niño Cathedral in Pagadian City with Archbishop Martin Jumoad who will officiate the rites.
With his office as bishop of the diocese, Bp. Lunas will take care of his flock in the Diocese of Pagadian which consists of 24 parishes grouped into four vicariates including the formation of future priests. The Holy Infant Seminary in Pagadian City is forming young men to become future priests.
Congregations of religious men and women are also present in the diocese.
Created on November 12, 1971, the Diocese comprises the City of Pagadian and 24 municipalities in the Northern and Eastern parts of Zamboanga del Sur.
The Diocese is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Ozamiz and its titular patron is the Santo Niño.
Prior to Bishop Lunas, there were four bishops who served the Diocese, namely: Bp. Jesus Tuquib, Bp. Antonio Tobias, Bp. Zacharias Jimenez and Bp. Emmanuel Cabajar.
