Sto. Niño Ecoland 1 GKK
It was a fine evening last January 19, 2019 when we gathered as a community of Ecoland I to celebrate the 31st Fiesta Anniversary of Sto. Niño Eco I GKK. The young and the young once, the Catholics, the non-Catholics and even non-residents join in the festivities.
After the beautiful mass led by Reverend Father Henry Campeon, the congregation stayed for dinner and the program. The dinner was sumptuous because of the generous homeowners who brought their own dishes to share.
The program opened with the Doxology choreographed for the youth of the song “The Steadfast Love of the Lord”.
PSK Ruth S. Panizales welcomed everyone warmly. This was followed by a one-of-a-kind Induction of Officers because two sets were inducted.
- The Ecoland Homeowners Association headed by President Nilo Abellera; Vice-President – Epifanio “Jun” Panizales; Secretary Glenda Montales; Treasurer Lita Doromal; Auditor Reynato Villegas and 10 Board of Directors namely: Virgie Matalam, Gregorio Isleta, Edgar Piccio, Wilfredo Teves, Teresa Valenzuela, Liza Cedeno, Jaime de Vera, Antonio Acain, Mario Lopez and Paul Escueta.
- The GKK Servant Leaders of Sto. Niño Ecoland, Judge Jesus Quitain inducted the officers. Bishop George Rimando D.D and Fr. Henry Campeon prayed over them.
There was also a song number by youth who were too shy to stand up and be seen.
On a more serious and meaningful note, an inspirational message was given by Bro. Rolly Acuña. It was short and sweet. He urged the homeowners “to touch base with the members of the community in Jesus Name. That they must consider what they can do for the community that would bring them closer to God and to each other”.
The newly elected President of the Homeowners Association, Nilo Abellera, gave a response. He cited the timeliness of the Association’s being registered and becoming a legal entity to enjoy the benefits of an Association.
The GKK-PSK Ruth Panizales committed in behalf of the homeowners to do their best to be better neighbors and parishioners.
The surprise of the evening was the recognition of dedicated members of the GKK who have faithfully served the chapel and community.
- Mary Ann Claudio for decorating the stage every fiesta for the last 5 years.
- Luthing Mansano Millard for taking care of the chapel for the last 12 years.
- Ryan Salomia for invaluable service to the chapel as organist and bringing his whole family and friends to the Kasaulogan sa Pulong every Saturday at 6:30 pm. “The Model Family of the Year”.
- PSL Rolly Acuña and past PSK Maria Teresa Acuña for their priceless dedication and commitment to the GKK. “The Ideal Couple of the Community”.
The honorees were pleasantly surprised and grateful for the recognition.
The dynamic emcees of the evening were PSA Teresa Sampaga and PSL Engr. Romel Bernardino, Manager of Ecoland properties.
Not to be outdone were the 3 pillars of the Sto. Nino Eco I GKK namely:
- PSL Judge Jesus Quitain who led the 9 days novena and was very supportive of the cause.
- PSA Head Dra. Rose Bornia de la Cruz who supervised the altar and the Holy Images.
- PSL Rolly Acuña who despite his busy schedule led the procession on the following day.
When God’s people are of one heart and one mind to serve; nothing is too difficult or impossible. The 31st Anniversary of the Sto. Niño Eco I GKK was successful and memorable because the GKK Servant Leaders and homeowners committed and shared their time, talents and treasure.
Viva Sto. Niño!
