MABBAMA Vicariate Holds Altar Servers’ Convention
MABBAMA is an acronym for the towns of Matanao, Magasaysay, Bansalan and Bangkal. This comprises 4 parishes in one vicariate: the St. Michael Parish in Matanao, the Sto. Nino Parish in Magsaysay, the Immaculate Conception Parish in Bansalan, and the San Vicente Ferrer in Bangkal. They comprise the Vicariate of Immaculate Conception.
Hundreds of altar servers participate in the annual convention hosted by the San Vicente Ferrer in Bangkal. The event lasts for three days which starts on January 25 and lasts through January 27th. The theme of the said event is fitting for the youth which is “Beloved, Gifted and Empowered.” The opening day includes a Holy Mass in San Vicente Ferrer Parish, a ground procession and a Welcome ceremony with Rev. Fr. Allan Joie Nunez, the parish priest of Bangkal giving his welcome remarks.
The second day was a day intended for active young boys to engage in sports and parlor games. They ended the day with physical exhaustion but truly satisfied to see old friends and meet new friends.
The third and last day was highlighted with the distribution of certificates, a very special message from the visiting priests and was culminated with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist. (Blaze Q. Cantaros)
