2019 Marks Glorious Years

Mr. & Mrs. Robles 65th Wedding Anniversary

Mr. & Mrs. Robles 65th Wedding Anniversary

The early days of January sparks the milestone of events for the following people who at their young age became one of the building blocks of the church as the prime movers of the different apostolates they held during their glorious days.

Allow me to start with Mr. & Mrs. Ignacio Robles of the St. Joseph Parish in Santa Cruz. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on January 4th of the current year. They were joined by their two children, Sheila May and Fe Myla, their son in law, grandchildren, relatives, closest friends and their godchildren from baptism to weddings who took a day off in order to witness their momentous celebration. The couple had been an inspiration to the community especially to the married couples. Seeing them together over these long years and growing old together by the grace of God. When they are asked what keeps them together over these long years, they will both reply saying they made a choice to choose each other and they live that choice, saying further that if they are given a chance to choose again, they will still choose each other.

The couple had been the prime movers of the Couples for Christ many years back. They have shared not just insights and reflections towards a successful marriage but they also shared their lives to them. Opening their doors and letting young couples who seek their help during their marital woes. They have been a favorite couple to most of the residents.

Lola Meling's 97th birthday

Lola Meling’s 97th birthday

Next is our ever charming, ever witty and forever adorable “Lola Meling” of San Isidro Parish in Digos City. She is fondly called “Lola Meling” or “Tia Meling” by the family and closest friends. Mrs. Emilia Crispino Ramos celebrated her 97th birthday on January 6th of this year. Sharing the same birthday with the Miss Universe Catriona Gray, her family decided to have her in Lola Meling’s birthday as she is standing tall and beautiful in Lola’s cake.

Lola Meling came forward to submit herself to God’s blessings through Rev. Fr. Marvin Zamora, the mass presider of the 6 AM mass. When she was asked by Fr. Marvin what was the secret to her staying strong and able as she reached this milestone, her reply was “Pagbuot sa Ginoo”. She was indeed an active servant of the church many years back and had been a good example to her children and the whole family in general. She’s the pretty grandma of our fellow SocCom in the Diocese, Doc Manilee Araune.

Sir Romy Crispino's 85th birthday

Sir Romy Crispino’s 85th birthday

Our next abler is the handsome guy who made it through 85 years (and counting) of blissful existence, Sir Romualdo “Romy” Crispino. The father of two beautiful daughters Mangia and Asencia who are both successful professionals and businesswomen. This particular event called for three celebrations, which were his birthday, thanksgiving and Recognition and Awarding. Aside from celebrating this milestone, he chose to gather all his employees from the CrisBel Enterprises to come and join him for a festive dinner over musical shows and messages from friends and family. Bishop-Elect Ronald Lunas was his main guest and was asked to give a short message to the people in attendance. He talked about “Emmanuel – God is with us”. He further said that whatever we do in life and wherever our faith takes us to, God is our Constant companion. He will make our life beautiful and strong enough to withstand the trials in life.

The hundreds of people in attendance to the dinner party were evident of Sir Romy’s generous heart. These are the people who worked for him over the years. From his Hotel de CrizBelle, his Crown Catering Services, the Dragon Meat and Poultry Shop, his wide area of piggery and poultry in the suburb, not to mention his real estates – the commercial buildings he is presently renting out, he never forgets his people. Recognizing them for building him up. The workers are his able companions as he navigated the commercial industry that steered him toward this success. Therefore he incorporated the Recognition and Awarding during the party by acknowledging the very people behind his success and awarding them with gifts and cash prizes to compensate their loyalties. Everyone came home happy and blessed. (Blaze Q. Cantaros | SUGID)
