With gratuitous hearts MIC Sisters celebrate Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception
The Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Conception (MIC) celebrates with all Catholics all over the world the Solemnity of the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin on December 8, 2018.
The day is significant to the MIC Sisters because they received the name, Immaculate Conception on the eve of the dogma’s 50th Anniversary on December 7, 1904 in which the church dogma of the Immaculate Conception was formally proclaimed in 1854. It was Pope Pius X who gave and consecrated the Institute to Mary, giving the MIC Sisters the whole world as field of apostolate.
The Solemnity of the Feast of the Immaculate Conception allows the MIC Sisters to remember with gratitude in thanksgiving the blessings as missionaries. December 8 is also the day that the MIC Sisters have their devotional renewal of vows.
The Eucharistic celebration was presided by Fr. Ferdinand Lariosa, an alumnus of the MIC schools. In his homily, Fr. Nanding expresses his gratitude to the MIC Sisters and St. Michael School teachers for the formation he received during his school days of which it has helped him in his journey to the priesthood. He emphasized the importance of vow of obedience: obedience to the Pope, Bishops, and Priests and to the Superior of the congregation. The renewal of vows of the MIC Sisters followed after the homily and the community singing of Magnificat and Prayer to the Immaculate Conception.
Sr. Justina Villagracia, MIC thanked the mass presider and those who were present especially the associates, mission prayer partners, alumni, benefactors and friends of MIC for sharing their time and support to the MIC Sisters. The celebration ended up with a thanksgiving dinner. (Hermie Mapute, AsMIC)
