Recycled New year’s Resolution
New Year is a time when many people around the world make promises. However, many of the promises made by people are rarely completed maybe because their resolution is hardly doable or impossible to achieve. The resolution to finish college in one year is impossible to achieve for first year or third year college students. The same resolution is doable for college seniors. The resolution to quit smoking is doable same with to quit gambling. But to resolve to win in the May 2019 election (for those who will be running for public office) is impossible to achieve because this resolution requires external factors to achieve like the votes of confidence of the people.
From my end, I plan to recycle my new year’s resolution.
A year ago, I was resolved to do these:
First, to delete from my Facebook account people who are not anymore active in the social media. Those who do not like or comment or share or repost for the longest time my post/s; Second, not to buy anymore jewelries because I get to receive them from my sister (Wenceslita Nuera) who is an American Citizen by virtue of naturalization. Finally, I was resolved last year to allow the natural course to happen in the University of Southeastern Philippines (USEP). I have also received an inspiration through a dream that I should not file a complaint to the Ombudsman questioning the policy prescribed and subscribed by the Board during the election of the USEP president. God wants me to take a back seat and let HIS will be done in USEP.
I was able to make good of my first and second resolution. But I failed on my third resolution.
I failed to fulfill my third resolution because first week of February last year I received a show-cause order from USEP admin; then another show-cause order; then a third show-cause order. The last or the fourth show cause order was given to me first week of March. My lawyer advised me to file falsification charge against the signatories of those show-cause orders to stop them from assaulting me with show-cause orders. Indeed, the show-cause orders stopped from coming because I filed criminal and administrative cases before the Ombudsman.
So, for next year, I resolve to continue my legal dispute with USEP. I resolve to wait patiently to whatever resolution the Ombudsman might decide. Most importantly, I resolve to protect myself from any unwarranted stones to be thrown at my person.
As for my New Year’s wish, I wish that my recycled resolution will not anymore be recycled next time I will make a list of new year’s resolution. My wish is for God to continue journeying with me in this legal aspect of my life. I wish that my 2019 is a vindication year for me and for USEP.
Happy New Year to my dear readers! May the year 2019 will be good to us!
