Pledging fundraising campaign launched in Bangkal parish

A fundraising campaign was launched at 03:00 a.m. on December 16 during the Misa de Gallo. The fundraising which is named as Pledging was acknowledged during the lighting of the Christmas Lanterns. Rev. Fr. Leonie Espana made several calls in his homilies to support the Pledging campaign. According to Fr. Espana, the Pledging campaign ia another way of raising funds for the completion of several infra projects of the parish like the finishing touches of the church, the pastoral building, and the parish gymnasium.

There are already seventy-six (76) pledgers or pledgors in the Pledging campaign and many have already signified their intention to pledge in support of the fundraising activity of the Our Lady of Lourdes Parish (OLLP).

Dr. Ma. Iris Melliza the Chair of the PFC Ways and Means Committee said that Pledging is a secondary fundraising to support to the first collection. The first collection is treated differently from the Pledging because there is a pledge form for every individual who would wish to join. Even if there are calls to increase cash offering for various church projects the amount of cash generated from the first collection is treated as such.

Unlike the other fundraising activities such as concerts, Pledging is zero-expense. Distribution of pledge forms are done during GKK masses. This is also promoted to the different districts in the parish.

At present there are sixteen members of the Ways and Means committee who alternately man the Ways and Means Committee Desk at the church main entrance and exit on Sundays to entertain queries and to distribute Pledge forms to those who are interested, Dr. Melliza added.
