P25K for City Hall employees

Regular employees under the City Government are set to receive P25,000 with the passage of the Supplemental Budget No. 2 for final reading in the City Council.

“The ordinance for the supplemental budget was passed and it is due for implementation. (It) included the CNA or Collective Negotiation Agreement between the City Employees and the City Government,” explained Councilor Danilo Dayanghirang, Chair for Committee on Finance, Ways and Means, and Appropriations, and proponent of the said ordinance.

The appropriation was pursuant to the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Budget Circular No. 2017-12, dated November 14, 2018.

“Under DBM Rules and Regulations, they are allowed to claim, as private union, some benefits. Because of these, (we appropriated) at P25,000 each regular employees,” said Dayanghirang.

However, for the Job Order (JO) Employees, Dayanghirang explained, “there’s no appropriation yet. The City Hall may still be looking it because they are just temporary employees.”

Dayanghirang also emphasized that JOs are not part of the Union.

The Supplemental Budget comprises of the general fund, developmental fund, and economic enterprise.

In specific, 2,437 employees will receive incentive from the general fund which totals to P60,925,000.

Meanwhile, 162 employees will have incentive under the economic enterprise which amounts to P4,050,000.

A total of 2,599 regular employees are set to receive the incentives before the end of the month for a total of P64,975,000.00. (Julianne A. Suarez)
