CFC Handmaids of the Lord Holds 22nd Anniversary
Malita, Davao Occidental is this year’s host to HOLD (Handmaids of the Lord) 22nd Founding anniversary on December 11, 2018. Hundreds of members came and enjoyed the camaraderie and as they shared the spirit of oneness and Christian fellowship among themselves. They have registered 150+ visitors in the morning.
The theme of the said event is “Rekindle the Gift… Fulfill your Ministry”. A very fitting subject for a group who have gone through personal transformation beyond mere friendships. It is a common knowledge that Handmaids of the Lord is a group of matured women (single, divorced and those separated from husbands for some reason). They come together on a regular basis to share life’s struggles and successes and support each other throughout time, they have developed a special bond of friendship and sisterhood. This theme reminds them of their gift as God’s chosen people and to continue the ministry they vowed to fulfill from the start since they consecrated themselves to the ministry.
A celebration of the Holy Eucharist was presided by Rev Fr. Kim Cossid DCD, parish priest of the Holy Rosary Parish in Malita, Davao Occidental at the Mariano Peralta Elementary School where all the activities and events were held.
This event was participated by the two provinces in Southern Davao, the Davao Occidental and Davao del Sur. The delegation from Sta. Cruz came the earliest and won a cash prize for themselves. They shared lunch at the same venue and the afternoon was spent with a short program which showed different cultural and modern presentations. They ended the day’s activities early at 3 PM to make time for travels back home. Indeed everyone came home “spiritually enriched” as noted by Ms. Dina Vicariato, a HOLD leader in St. Joseph Parish, Sta. Cruz. (Blaze Q. Cantaros)
