Advent Recollection Conducted
The parochial vicar of St. Mary of the Perpetual Rosary Parish, Fr. Rey T. Sabuero gratefully thanked the parish formation ministry team for the trust that was given to him to be the master facilitator of the advent recollection which was held on December 13, 2018 at the parish church from 7PM until 9PM. It was participated mostly by GKK servant leaders and members.
Fr. Rey shared the meaning of Advent. He emphasized on the following aspects of Advent: (1) Advent which means waiting for the coming of Christ. It is the time to prepare, time to renew the faith and great time to recollect. Christ has come to us now in prayer, words, and sacraments: sacrament of initiation, sacrament of healing and sacrament of commitment. Advent comes in history, mystery and majesty. (2) Advent is waiting for Christ. What was our disposition in waiting? Waiting is passive, waiting is painful, waiting is perceive, waiting is a weapon, waiting is manipulation and waiting creates passive resentment.
Some participants shared on how Christ had touched their personal lives by experiencing the mystery of Jesus. The experience of waiting makes one of the sharers learned to be patient in her life. Fr. Rey ended his sharing on Advent by giving the participants the guide question to reflect on the Gospel of Matthew 26:37-41.
Fr. Dionisio C. Tabiliran, parish priest of St. Mary of the Perpetual Rosary Parish was hopeful that the parishioners will continue to attend the coming recollection to be conducted by the parish and finally he gave his blessing to the participants. (Hermie Mapute | SMPRP SoCCom)
