A Blissful Banquet with IP Learners

The Indigenous Club of Holy Cross of Matanao, Inc. headed by Sr. Ma. Gemelina Gaudicos, TDM conducted an outreach program among the Blaan tribe in Sitio Tagaytay, Brgy. Savoy, Matanao, Davao del Sur last November 20, 2018. Seventeen Holy Crossians participated in the said event. The students enjoyed the amazing trip, passing through the rocky roads.

They were welcomed by the IP community enthusiastically, embracing them and shaking their hands. They prepared a short program which included Opening Prayer, Message and Talk, Parlor Games, Dance and Song Presentation, the Joyful banquet and the Closing Ceremony.

During the program the Grades 1-4 Blaan students were very happy, and as a surprise for their visitors they also presented a song and dance number. The students from Holy Cross went home exhausted but very fulfilled because they have gone out of their comfort zones to bring God’s love to the indigenous people. (James Diamante)
