The wonder of God’s creation

Last November 3, 2018 I went to Toyozu Mountain Resort in Nabunturan, Compostela Valley through the invitation of my sister and her husband. Together with my youngest daughter (my eldest daughter did not join us for she was busy with school works) and my sister’s family, we started travelling from Davao City at around 5:45 in the morning. My brother in law who was the one driving traversed through the Buhangin-Cabantian-Bunawan Bypass Road. Said route was a good alternative to travelers who wants to avoid traffic in Sasa, Panacan and Tibungco area if you will be going out of Davao City towards the northern parts of Southern Mindanao.

We arrived at our destination at around 8:15 AM. Though, it was not my first time (I was there in year 2003 with my office mates) at the resort I noticed the improvements they have made. There are more cottages now with knee deep private pool where you can immerse yourself to the water coming from the hot spring. Said cottage that we availed of cost 800 pesos where you can stay up to 6 in the evening. If you want to swim, they have a much bigger pool for everybody. They also have cottages for 200 pesos where you can avail of the two common pools and steam bath at the cave. The resort’s pride was the hot spring and it was also surrounded with trees and mountains. With that I was thankful of Gods creation, that of nature and environment.

We stayed at the resort till 2:00 in the afternoon and travelled back towards Davao City. We made two stopovers, one was at New Sibonga, Nabunturan where we bought their famous bibingka and other native delicacies like sapin-sapin and cassava cake among others. The second stop was at Carmen, Davao del Norte which is the balut capital of the north, where we ate balut and penoy eggs.

After which, we were on our way home. As we travelled I cannot help but marvel on Gods wonderful creations, that we passed by along the way, the trees, rice fields, mangroves and mountains. I am reminded by what the Lord said on Psalm 46:10 “Be still and know that I am God”. Indeed, by knowing God we realize that He is the source of all creation and that we should be thankful.

We arrived safely at home at around 5:10 PM traversing the same route, thus avoiding traffic. As a whole we had fun and a very relaxing adventure with nature combined with man-made creations.
