In All Things – Love and Service

“Service is not so easy like eating peanut.”

This was the message to the young people during the Parish Youth Day at The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, Calinan of Noel Parado, 27 years old, a Non Teaching Personnel of DepEd, Administrative Assistant II (SHS) assigned at Lower Tamugan National High School and Division Inspector of General Roxas District.

Parado, now on his 13th year of service in the young continued by saying, “You will face many obstacles like discrimination, rejection, failures, and so on, but beneath the trials and obstacles in serving, I believe that God provides everything and God is always there to protect and to guide your ways. And I always believe that we are all called to serve, all we need to do is to listen.”

He started as Pangulo sa Batan-on (PSB) when he was in his 2nd year of high school until he became a part of the Core Group and now the Parish and Vicariate Youth Coordinator of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish and Vicariate for 5 years.

His heart of service is full of passion that many young people were inspired to continue in the service. He doesn’t get tired of understanding and accommodating them. Being the coordinator, together with the help of the rest of the Core Group, the Parish Youth Day 2018 as one of the yearly activities was a success.

Rain or shine, 480 young people of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Calinan enjoyed the Parish Youth Day 2018 last November 3, 2018. It started with a Holy Mass presided by Rev. Fr. Jupiter Morales, parochial vicar and youth director emphasizing Don Bosco’s statement, “Love what the young love and they will love what you love.” After the mass was the welcome ceremony and input on preparedness given by some of 911 personnel.

Even when the rain started to pour in the afternoon, the young people seemed to enjoy the games given by the Youth Apostolate Core Group followed by presentations per district. Also, one representative from Calinan Seminarians conducted a vocation campaign and invited the grade 12 male students for a search in program in St. Francis Xavier College Seminary.
