DPWH Davao City District opens new building

DAVAO CITY — “We are now more inspired to work.”

These are the words from the Assistant District Engineer Milagros E. Delos Reyes of Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Davao City 1st District Engineering Office during the inauguration of their new office, September 28.

To serve the public better, a new main building of DPWH along L. Ma. Guerrero St. was opened and the ceremony was attended by the DPWH XI Regional Director Allan S. Borromeo, Usec. Herman B. Jumilla of Department of Budget and Management and Cong. Karlo Nograles of the 1st Congressional District.

The inauguration also marks the official day when the transactions are done in the new office building, a four-storey structure which will house the office of the District Engineer, Assistant District Engineer, Planning and Design Section, Administrative Section, Finance Section and Construction Section and would cover legislative districts 1 and 2 of Davao City.

After the installation of the transformer by Davao Light and Power Company, the new office building finally has electricity to run the equipment and facilities.

The building has also allotted three comfort rooms for Persons with Disabilities (PWD).

District Engineer Wilfredo G. Aguilar expressed his happiness that they can finally transfer to the new office after more than a year of construction works for this project that costs P43,294,105.65.

“This new office building is a testament of how we build projects—projects with good quality, workmanship and speed,” Aguilar said.

Fr. Mark Sagrado, assistant parish priest of the Our Lady of Fatima Parish officiated the blessing of the new building and it was followed by the ribbon-cutting participated in by the guests of honor. (DPWH DCDEO)
