Purified Intention

He was seeking from everyone around him the attention that he never got from his father.

Rene Robles, Jr., 22 years old, a Pre-Theology Year student at St. Francis Xavier Regional Major Seminary from San Pablo Parish is the youngest in a family of five.

He loves to be the star of the night, to be always the one on stage. He does it by singing, dancing, and playing musical instruments. He used to crack jokes for everyone, and it made people drawn to him. He also entered into a relationship with someone who can give all the attention and care he needed.

Then he found the seminary and the formation to priesthood that gives all the attention he was looking for. During the early years, he enjoyed it because it fills all his longings. But as time went by, his intentions were purified. He doesn’t remember how it happened to him. He just relies on the hands of God working in him. He felt the grace of God poured in him and God provided him everything he asked for.

He is now attracted to the priesthood and chooses to continue his formation. He gives his best and offer everything to the Lord as thanksgiving, not perfectly but faithfully. He may fall along his journey but he will surely stand. He hopes to stay and persevere.

One of the best things that happened in his life during his formation is his relationship with his father. It’s never been the same for they became best friends. His father is now so proud of him.

He is also proud of his father. He does not anymore seek for attention. He rather seeks for the kingdom of God by offering his life.
