Seminarians to learn life in the GKK through immersion
To learn about the life of the people in the grassroots and how they live their faith, seminarians will be exposed through their immersion in the Gagmay’ng Kristohanong Katilingban (GKK).
The Theology 2 seminarians of St. Francis Xavier Regional Major Seminary of Mindanao (REMASE) have joined in the orientation and meet-up with the GKK leaders last June 17.
Three parishes namely: San Lorenzo Ruiz Parish, Talomo and Virgen delos Remedios in Crossing Bayabas, Toril and Sto. Rosario Parish in Toril have accepted the invitation to host the seminarians for their weekend immersion from July to February next year.
The parish priests and GKK leaders of San Lorenzo Parish and Virgen delos Remedios have already met the seminarians who will be immersing in the GKKs every Sunday.
Fr. Joel Caasi, parish priest of Talomo said this immersion will help the seminarians understand their role as ministers and leaders of the Church through their experience in the GKK level.
Fr. Marbendear Morallas, professor of REMASE who accompanied the seminarians during their meeting with the leaders said that seminarians will get to see and experience that priesthood is not only about living a comfortable life.
He also asked the GKK leaders to help the seminarians as they will be their formators in this immersion.
