New ACLAIM Director wants to strengthen Charismatic movement
In his first Holy Mass and meeting after being appointed as spiritual director of the lay movements in the Archdiocese, Fr. Marbendear Morallas said he wants to strengthen the Charismatic movement in Davao.
Last June 17, during his mass at the Christ the King Charismatic Center in Bago Aplaya, Fr. Morallas said he wants to bring more young people to take part in the Charismatic movement.
He added that the Charismatic movement has been the answer of the Church to Protestantism when some Catholics feel that they are bored with how they celebrate their faith.
Fr. Morallas lamented that some young people have been drawn to join in other denominations as their praise and worship are more lively compared to how Catholics celebrate the Holy Mass.
He said the Charismatic movement is a great way to attract young people to revisit their faith and see the beauty of the songs and the praise and worship of the Catholic Church.
He also noticed that many of those who participated in the mass are already old and only few young people are joining, prompting him to tell the members to bring the young people from their respective parishes to be on June 24 to participate in the Holy Mass and members took delight with the announcement.
The 37-year-old priest said he is optimistic that the Charismatic movement will be once again be back to its lively state.
Fr. Morallas was appointed this month as new director of the Archdiocesan Council of Lay Associations and Integrated Movements (ACLAIM) in which the Archdiocesan Catholic Charismatic Renewal Movement (ACCRMD) is part of.
