Fr. Anthony Silvosa installed as parish priest of VDLR
For the first time in his 13 years in the priesthood, Fr. Anthony Silvosa is finally installed as the 2nd parish priest of Virgen de los Remedios Parish in Crossing Bayabas, Toril.
In a ceremony officiated by Archbishop of Davao Romulo G. Valles, June 27, Fr. Silvosa officially installed as parish priest, owning the responsibility of shepherding the flock.
“It is a big responsibility,” said Abp. Valles in his homily, referring to the role of parish priests.
He added that he hopes that priests will become a teacher of faith in the role of Mary saying that most priests will say that they have their special devotion to the Blessed Mother.
He said that priests are responsible to explain in the public everything that relates to one’s faith so that a person becomes knowledgeable and not easily swayed by others who say negative things about the Catholic faith.
He added one will be firm in faith because of that special color that Mary brings to the Catholic faith.
For his part, Fr. Silvosa asked the help of his parishioners in their desire to live their faith through their participation in the Church.
It can be noted that his installation as 2nd parish priest of VDLR falls on the day of his 13th anniversary to the priesthood. Fr. Silvosa succeeded Fr. Johnny Autida.
He said that there’s a lot of things to do in the parish and he is confident that his parishioners will always be there, serving the Lord through the Church.
