Heart of God

Excerpt from Archbishop Romulo G. Valles’ homily during the Holy Mass of the 49th Patronal Fiesta of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, Bo. Obrero, Davao City last June 8, 2018 in celebration of the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus.

What is the heart of God?

Today’s solemnity says… If you know the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we would know the Sacred Heart of God. In the Sacred heart of Jesus, we would know what is there in the heart of God.

The Sacred Heart of Jesus is the total image of the Sacred Heart of God. To love us and care for us, to possess us and to look again and again us and reach out His hand for us because His love for us is beyond imagining and beyond explanation.

As per Pope Francis: Even if you get discouraged and get tired handling yourself, the Lord Jesus will never get tired of you, will never get tired. Busa mao kanang fiesta nato karon, I’m dwelling on kita. So that lagi kung matandog kita sa Sacred Heart of God known to us in the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Ang importante nga challenge nga matouch ta, maform ta, that our hearts may be like that of Jesus and that is the heart that we bring to our children, to our wife, to our husband, our co-workers ug atong silingan nga hinaut pa unta nga ang ilang ma experience pinaagi nato mao simple ang Sacred Heart of Jesus.

When we heard the gospel, it is Jesus Christ in the Cross… Around that time, Jesus said: “There is your mother…” There is one person who knows the heart of Jesus and who can really teach us, bring us to the heart of Jesus and she was there when the gospel today happened, at the foot of the cross and that is our Blessed Mother.

The Heart of Mary is very close to the heart of Jesus. And our Blessed Mother will always desire and long, mangandoy nga kita pud dal-on niya close to the Sacred Heart of her Son. Viva Jesus!
