Spiritual Adoption

spiritual adoptionEarly September last year, the CFC Handmaids of the LORD embarked into a spiritual journey with another soul. Handmaids were briefed on the reason and mechanics of the journey.

Each Handmaid signs a pledge to pray daily for nine months for an unborn child she will herself name, to be spared from abortion.

I named my spiritually adopted daughter Camille on September 2, 2017, but forgot to pray that day. Officially, my walk with Camille in prayer started on September 3. My Camille is due to be born on June 3, 2018.

Months before in one prayer time with some friends in Hong Kong, I included this spiritual adoption prayer in my petitions. One friend helper named L asked me what it was all about, so I told her about my baby.

It happened that L told me her life’s story. She is single, has a daughter with a man, and had a son by a second man. She and the second man separated. In one drunken party, she and the second man got carried away, and she is now again pregnant by him. She has no plans of telling the second man about her pregnancy.

After hearing her story, I asked her when her baby is due. She said June 3, 2018. She told me that at the first instance she heard my prayer and asked about it, unbeknownst to me, she named her baby girl Camille.

Coincidence or providence?

Mother Mary in some of Her apparitions speak of how, this abortion carnage all over the world causes all of heaven to cry.

The late Bishop Fulton Sheen, who may have read and felt this urgent cry, composed a prayer to save some unborn babies in danger of abortion.

Daily, each Handmaid prays JESUS, MARY, AND JOSEPH, I LOVE YOU VERY MUCH. JESUS I BEG YOU, SPARE THE LIFE OF THE UNBORN BABY THAT I HAVE SPIRITUALLY ADOPTED WHO IS IN DANGER OF ABORTION. AMEN.

Anyone can commit and say this prayer, even the sick, the house-bound, those in wheelchairs, in prison, especially the well – anyone! Please join us.

Postscript. L confessed when she joined me in a mass later. Let us pray for her.

GOD IS GOOD, EVERYWHERE, TO EVERYONE, ALL THE TIME! (Bella A. Sarenas)
