Divorce

editorial divorceThere are 3 steps in making a law. 1. The proposed law called a bill is made by the House of Representatives, 2. It is sent to the Senate made up of 24 Senators who will examine and maybe improve it. Once approved by the Senate 3. It is sent to the President. If he signs the bill, it is now a law. This February the House of Representative approved the divorce bill and sent to the Senate. Not one of 24 Senators wants to sponsor the bill so that the Senate can consider it. This means the Senate cannot analyze and vote on it. This further means the House of Representatives Divorce bill will not be sent to the President who alone can make it into a law by signing the bill. This gives is extra time to further pressure the Senators and the Congressmen not to approve the divorce bill by texting, talking, writing to them and insisting that divorce is bad for the people. We should continue to campaign against divorce. If we weaken or stop our efforts, the divorce bill might be revived and next time even the Senate might endorse the divorce bill.
