SILP’s Blessed 13!

Thirteen (13) religious institutions exist within San Isidro Labrador Parish, Catalunan Grande that some would say that the place is a holy hill.

As it joins the Year of the Clergy and Consecrated Persons celebration, every 3rd Sunday of the month, the religious lay brothers, nuns and priests from the different congregations and holy orders are the ministers in the celebration of the 9:00 in the morning Mass. Fr. Rickjame Domangan, SDV, was the Mass presider last February 18 Mass.

Fr. Joel C. Caasi, SILP Parish Priest sees this as a way not just to celebrate YCCP but also to make the parishioners aware of the religious communities present in the parish and to inspire people especially the young ones to consider religious vocation.

The effort creates oneness, belongingness of the lay and the religious lay along with the clergy. It is a delight to see nuns and religious brothers actively participating in the celebration of the Holy Eucharist as choir, lectors, commentators, collectors, offerers, altar servers and as ministers of Holy Communion.

The religious groups present in SILP are the Society of Divine Vocations (SDV), Society of Divine Word (SVD), Society of St. Paul Fathers (SSP), Presentation of Mary (PM), Religious of the Virgin Mary (RVM), Religiuses De Notre Dame de Mission (RNDM), Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate Conception of the Holy Mother of God (SFIC), Order of Friars Minor Capuchin (OFMCap), Mission Society of the Philippines (MSP), St. Francis Xavier Regional Major Seminary of Mindanao (Diocesan), Pink Sisters, Brothers of the Sacred Heart, and Monasterio de Sta. Clara.

“Let us pray for the consecrated persons that when we feel dryness in the vocation, we still focus on God and we continue to pray also to persevere in this consecrated life”, Fr, Rickjame said in his homily. (Leah Pasaporte Ibañez | SILP Soccom)
