Cultural challenges in the family highlighted in Mindanao gathering
A gathering of Family and Life Apostolate (FLA) workers from different dioceses in Mindanao is set this month to discuss the cultural and pastoral challenges in the family.
Reflecting on the theme, “Family: Seedbed of Vocation,” the gathering will be hosted by Davao City at MerGrande Ocean Resort, February 9-11.
Fr. Orlando Angelia, Director of the Family and Life Apostolate of the Archdiocese of Davao said that they want to give paramount importance to the family apostolate of the Church as the family plays a vital role to the well-being of the church and society.
He added that there are challenges facing the family which is said to be the seedbed of vocations and they want to highlight the challenges so they will know their common pastoral actions.
The FLA workers will also have their updating, coordination and setting up of family-related pastoral programs.
Various talks courtesy of invited speakers led by keynote speaker Archbishop Gilbert Garcera of Lipa will be a big part in the three-day gathering.
This event will also be a way to promote camaraderie among the FLA Workers in the different parts of Mindanao and so that they will be more effective in their apostolate.
