Corporate world: a world of possibilities
Change happens not only for those desire but also for those who are eager to take the risk.
It has been said by some who had tried that networking — a means of selling products and building people — is a scary corporate world because you might not hit the target profit from your investment. But for this couple who were living in a simple living before, Mr. Carlo Carlos and Mrs. Army Carlos took the risk of entering the so called scary corporate world because they have dreams within them — a dream of change not for themselves but also for the people who will benefit.
Looking back, Mr. Carlo Carlos share how they started the journey towards change. He genuinely expressed how he desperately needs an extra income for their future plans and to sustain his wife’s daily necessities.
“I need to give my wife the life that I promised as we got married,” he emphasized this statement as the reason of investing in the networking company.
However, it was not a smooth ride of being into a lot of networking business as he experienced, he admitted how frustrated he was of being duped by several investors. Because of this, he became more cautious as he no longer wants himself and the people he recruited to undertake this scheme again.
Despite of the frustration, he remained open to the networking business. In fact, there was this one firm that enticed him most. The highest earner of the said firm took time to meet each person under her lineup which is very rare deed to some firm. “I knew a lot of highest earner who do not give time to meet their people because it is the income that matters,” he profoundly said these lines adding, “But no. This company has a heart.”
It was on the year 2002 when he and his wife finally settled to take the risk that will change their lifestyle. They invested in the biggest networking company in Davao City that promotes health and wellness. “When I joined the corporate world, I considered that the next factor in the industry that will hit the market is wellness,” said Mrs. Armi Carlos as she believes that health is essential to all.
They are the walking advertisement of their products. Being the endorser themselves became an efficient way to persuade their target market because the people get to see the result directly. This motivated them to work harder and be more health oriented business persons with a heart.
For sixteen years of working, talking, promoting and training, all their hardship paid off. They established a good team and their products became saleable. “When you engage into a business that is consumable, then you are in the right shape,” Mrs. Armi Carlos said as she shared how their product reached its peak.
Needless to say, saleable products would mean getting more from your investment. The couple revealed that they are earning almost 1.2 million pesos a month. They now own three large houses which they bought in cash and seven condo units around the city. For them, these properties are not only material things but these serve as inspiration to themselves and their people to strive harder.
Venturing in this kind of business was never easy for them: given by the fact that in every aspect of life including business there are always trials to be faced. Regardless of difficulties they had been through during the process, they just hold on their dreams and never thought of giving up. They believe that their dreams are bigger than the trials they encountered along the way.
Taking the risk in the corporate world made a big change not only to their lifestyle but also to their perspective in life. “It is not about who is on top but it is all about helping people. It is not all about the income but the person we become,” said by Mr. and Mrs. Carlos as they shared how dedicated they are with their advocacy about health and wellness.
An idea of pursuing business start when one is filled with dreams, in building these dreams aiming for change must be part of it. And for things to change, one must be eager to take the risk. Because it is only when we take chances that turns everything into place. (Roxanne M. Bendijo | HCDC Intern)
